Optimized ${}^{67}Cu$ production by using thick ${}^{68}Zn$ targets.

Among the novel radionuclides for cancer therapy, copper-67 (half-life 61.83 h) has recently received the attention of many researchers worldwide, thanks to its potential application in theragnostics (as single radionuclide or in pair with copper-64), that allows the selection of patients prior therapy through diagnostics with the same radiopharmaceutical. In this work the optimized production parameters by using enriched zinc-68 targets and 70 MeV proton beams (the maximum available energy at Arronax facility and at LNL with new SPES cyclotron) are investigated, by considering the RadioNuclidic and Isotopic Purity of resulting product for different irradiation cases.
