The Pauli Exclusion Principle violation by electrons studies by the VIP Experiment: interpretations and future perspectives.
Sperandio L. per la Collaborazione VIP
The Pauli Exclusion Principle (PEP) represents a fundamental principle of modern physics and it is extremely important to test the possible limits of its validity. We present a method of searching for possible small violation of PEP for electrons, through the search for "anomalous" X-ray transitions in copper atoms, produced by "fresh" electrons which can have the probability to do the Pauli-forbidden atomic transitions. We also describe the experimental setup and the final results obtained by VIP running at the underground LNGS of INFN. Finally, we introduce some interpretations and the experimental upgrade VIP2.
